The Auburn Tigers are going to the Final Four. Like, in basketball. This is real life.
Bruce Pearl’s remarkable rebuilding effort of the Auburn basketball program reached new heights on Sunday when the Tigers defeated No. 2 seed Kentucky, 77-71, to reach the school’s first Final Four.
Now, normally after big football wins, fans at Auburn rush to Toomer’s Corner downtown and toss toilet paper all over the trees. It’s an iconic tradition that has lived on despite a poisoning in 2010. This tournament run has also seen the rolling of Toomer’s Corner being applied to basketball.
A live feed from Downtown Auburn captured the mad dash to Toomer’s Corner immediately following the win over Kentucky. The area was packed in a matter of seconds.
