Southampton player manager’s first choice target, club face ‘difficulty’ to complete transfer

Guido Carrillo moved to Southampton from AS Monaco in January 2018 and less than six months later was loaned out to Leganes.
The forward has returned to St Mary’s Stadium, and earlier this month AS reported Mauricio Pellegrino’s side wanted to sign him on another loan spell.
However, the Saints were only looking for a permanent transfer as they wanted to recoup part of the £20m they paid Monaco.
Last Wednesday, Toda Pasion reported Boca Juniors ‘would now enter fully to negotiate’ with Southampton for the 28-year-old as the Argentine side are in the market to sign a replacement for Darío Benedetto, who is edging closer towards the exit door.
Five days ago, Ole in Argentina reported Carrillo was one of the players who has always drawn interest from Boca Juniors.

Ole’s latest report indicates the Southampton owned player was manager Gustavo Alfaro’s first choice target to replace Benedetto.
However, there is ‘difficulty’ for Boca to complete his transfer. There is no indication as to why the operation is difficult for the South American club, but they have already looked at other targets.
