Midfielder will return to Leeds United next month – ‘too expensive’ for club to buy

Loaned out to SpVgg Greuther Fürth until the end of the season, Yosuke Ideguchi is expected to return to Leeds United once his year-long contract in Germany comes to an end.
The 2. Bundesliga club did have an option to buy to go along with the temporary deal, but Kicker in Germany explain on Thursday that purchasing the Japan international would simply be too expensive.
Sent to Germany to get some first-team football under his belt, the centre midfielder didn’t exactly achieve that goal, appearing just six times for the German side, missing most of the season due to a cruciate ligament injury suffered back in September against Dynamo Dresden, which was then followed by meniscus issues in January.
He made a comeback and started the last two games of the campaign, but it doesn’t appear to have been enough to convince his side to shell out the money to take him way from Elland Road permanently.

Arriving at Leeds United back in January 2018 from Gamba Osaka, the 22-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at CyD Leonesa in Spain (which was a disaster) before returning to England for pre-season.
His move to SpVgg Greuther Fürth was arranged towards the end of the transfer window.
He is contracted to Marcelo Bielsa’s club until 2022.
