Manchester United in ‘advanced talks’ to sign young Lyon midfielder

Frustrating their fans by only signing two players so far this summer, Manchester United continue their (reportedly) incessant pursuits of Bruno Fernandes and Harry Maguire.
On the side, however, they continue to do what the Red Devils have always done well, and that’s snap up young talent from clubs around Europe, and the Premier League club appear to have turned their attention to a young Frenchman: Florent Da Silva.
Yet to sign his first professional deal, the 16-year-old, described as a technical midfielder capable of also playing in a more creative role, is seen as one of the ‘great hopes’ at Lyon.
However, a number of foreign sides are said to have looked at him, and L’Equipe state Manchester United are on the verge of making a move for him by offering Lyon some money to buy out the final year of his youth contract.

A source close to the affair told the French newspaper ‘negotiations are advanced’ and all that was left to do was for the ‘the two sides to reach an agreement’.
Da Silva is said to still be unsure about his future, ‘thinking about the best project’, and a lot could rest on what Lyon have planned for him going forward.
Yet to train with the first-team, the player spent last year with the reserves, also discovering the Youth League with the club’s U19s.
