Falcons fans react to Gary Kubiak's situation with the Broncos

Broncos fans received some surprising news Friday evening, as ESPN reported that Gary Kubiak will not serve as the team’s offensive coordinator next season. According to ESPN, Kubiak, new Broncos head coach Vic Fangio and GM John Elway had “differing ideas” about the team’s offense and staffing decisions.

Assistant shocker: Gary Kubiak will not be Denver’s offensive coordinator, league sources tell ESPN.
After lengthy discussions, Denver and Kubiak had different ideas on staffing and offensive philosophies. Both sides going in different directions.

From Up to the Minute: The #Broncos won't bring back Gary Kubiak as OC after all, but #Steelers OL coach Mike Munchak has been talking to them about coming to Denver. His granddaughter would be the eventual winner. pic.twitter.com/17M0MTqhsm

Wow…I wonder if this is somewhat due in part to Rick Dennison. There's some talk amongst coaches in t/ league that they're hearing Elway did not want Dennison & Kubiak did, per sources. That's what coaches r talking about. Wouldn't be surprised to hear denials or diff versions. https://t.co/cTaXJ23ALI

The Broncos have reportedly been blocking teams from interviewing Kubiak, a decision that may have had major ramifications on the Atlanta Falcons’ search for an offensive coordinator. Kubiak was considered a top candidate for the job, but the Falcons hired Dirk Koetter on Tuesday.

Congrats to John Elway for beating the Falcons twice https://t.co/XXqv5jdpHp

Now go get Kubiak @FalconsDQ. You know he’s our guy. We’d rather hear you made a mistake than go through mediocrity. @AtlantaFalcons

(2) More on Kubiak: It's so Atlanta. Falcons will insist they're thrilled with Koetter but it's no secret Gary Kubiak was #1 candidate. Would Broncos have continued blocking him after he said no? Not likely. And for those who thought Kubes was a lock in Denver — yeah, never mind

Denver told the Falcons we couldn’t interview Kubiak as our OC. Now this happens. F you John Elway. https://t.co/inHFJVKmxu

The #Falcons should be on the phone with Gary Kubiak … now. Like, right now.
