‘Especially Crystal Palace’ – Hodgson’s side keen on signing, but have medical worry

Having sold Aaron Wan-Bissaka to Manchester United this summer, Crystal Palace have a huge hole to fill at right-back before next week’s deadline.
The youngster was a key player despite his age and replacing him will be no easy task. Well, it seems the Eagles may have identified a World Cup winner as a potential candidate.
L’Equipe report today that Palace are keen on signing Djibril Sidibe from Monaco this summer and that he’d be available for a decent fee.
The Frenchman is reportedly on Monaco’s sell list, they’re trying to raise some funds, and it’s even suggested they’d be willing to let him go for as little as €15m to any interested parties.
The Eagles are not the only interested party, with West Ham also named, that’s a link that was floating around earlier in the window as well, but L’Equipe make a point of saying ‘especially Crystal Palace’.
However, both clubs have their doubts, and it’s surrounding Sidibe’s fitness. The pair are concerned about the state of his right knee.
He injured the meniscus in his knee before the World Cup in 2018, and it seems both clubs want to do their research on that before making their move.
