Arsenal ‘suspect’ club trying to push down fee to sign Gunners player

Arsenal allowed David Ospina to spend last season on loan at Napoli and a clause in the deal meant the latter had to make the goalkeeper’s transfer permanent if he made 25 appearances.
In February, Carlo Ancelotti admitted his side wanted sign the Colombia international in the summer, regardless of the number of matches he plays for them.
Last month, Il Mattino reported Napoli will sit down with the Gunners and try to lower the shot stopper’s asking price.
CalcioNapoli24 now claim the Naples club have another ‘valid option’ to secure the 30-year-old’s services for €3.5m before the end of this month and from London, they have let it be known the deadline to conclude the deal is on or before June 15th.
Unai Emery’s side ‘suspect’ the Italian club will not exercise this option and will instead further try to lower the transfer fee.

Two Spanish sides have wanted to sign the South American in the past and Arsenal have maintained contacted with them. There is a belief that these clubs can meet the Europa League finalists’ demands for the transfer.
Should no offer arrive at the Emirates for Ospina, it would be an advantage for Napoli to sign him for a lower price.
However, the report explains the possibility of the north London club retaining the player must not be ruled out, even if it means losing him for nothing a year later since he has a year left on his contract.
